How to choose an integrated temperature sensor protection tube?

The use of thermocouples in production is becoming increasingly widespread, and they have become one of the commonly used temperature detection components in industry. They have the characteristics of high measurement accuracy, wide measurement range, simple structure, and easy use. We use various channels to understand and analyze products, presenting a wide range of industry knowledge to netizens. Below, we will discuss the selection of integrated temperature sensor protection tubes:

The integrated temperature sensor is currently one of the most commonly used temperature sensors. This type of sensor often has a protective tube, so we must pay attention to the installation and selection of the protective tube when using it, otherwise it may cause inaccurate measurement or even damage to the temperature sensor.

During the use of integrated temperature sensors, there are often some problems, especially with the protective tube of the temperature sensor. Although the protective tube of the temperature sensor is used to protect the resistance inside, the protective sleeve of the temperature sensor can also easily cause negative effects.

During installation, errors caused by insulation deterioration of the integrated temperature sensor, such as thermocouple insulation, excessive dirt or salt residue on the protective tube and wire plate, can lead to poor insulation between the thermoelectric dipoles and the furnace wall, which is more severe at high temperatures. This does not cause loss of thermoelectric potential and can also introduce interference, resulting in errors that can sometimes reach up to. Due to the thermal inertia of thermocouples, the indicated value of the instrument lags behind the changes in the measured temperature, which is particularly prominent during rapid measurements. Therefore, thermocouples with thinner thermoelectric electrodes and smaller protective tube diameters should be used as much as possible.

When the temperature measurement environment permits, the protective tube can even be removed. In the use of integrated temperature sensors, materials with good thermal conductivity and protective sleeves with thin tube walls and small inner diameters are usually used. In more precise temperature measurements, bare wire thermocouples without protective sleeves are used, but thermocouples are prone to damage and should be calibrated and replaced in a timely manner.01
