How to determine whether the components of the electric heating system are normal by observing their appearance
Leave a message
Electric heat tracing systems are used for pipe insulation. Besides the heating cable, they also include related accessories. Therefore, after installation, the system needs to be inspected to ensure the integrity of the heating cable and its accessories. When the equipment needs insulation, it can be turned on and used immediately. So how can you visually inspect the system to ensure this is the case?
1. Check the circuit according to the drawings: Confirm the location of the temperature control probe, terminal block, power connection box, etc., and verify that they are consistent with the drawings.
2. Check related components: Ensure that the junction box (tee, two-way, terminal block), power connection box, etc. are correctly installed, and that the heating cable is installed in accordance with the drawings.
3. Check the electrical connections to ensure that the heating cable conductors and ground wire are properly insulated.
4. Check all components and the heating cable connection for signs of overheating, corrosion, moisture, or loose connections.
5. Check the insulation for damage, moisture, defects, or cracks.
6. Ensure that the junction box (tee, two-way, terminal block), etc., is labeled with its location on the insulation.
7. Check the temperature control system for signs of corrosion, moisture, etc., and that the setting knobs, switches, and temperature probes are functioning properly.
If any problems arise during the inspection, contact the heating cable manufacturer immediately, and replace any components that require replacement.
