How to judge the quality of stainless steel electric heating coil welding materials?

To judge the quality of stainless steel electric heating ring welding materials, we can start from the following aspects:
Appearance inspection
Packaging and labeling: The packaging of high-quality welding materials is usually intact, and the labeling is clear and complete. The product model, specifications, production date, manufacturer and other information will be clearly marked on it, with clear handwriting and not easy to fade. If the packaging is simple and the label is blurred, it is likely to be a product of poor quality.
Surface quality: Check the surface of the welding material, which should be smooth and free of obvious cracks, pores, inclusions and other defects. The surface of the welding wire should be evenly copper-plated without peeling or oxidation; the welding rod coating should be evenly and tightly wrapped on the welding core without damage, falling off, moisture and deterioration.
Dimensional accuracy measurement
Use high-precision measuring tools, such as calipers and micrometers, to measure the diameter, length and other dimensions of the welding material. The diameter deviation of the welding wire should be within the specified range. Usually, the diameter deviation of the high-precision welding wire can be controlled within ±0.05mm; the length and diameter of the welding rod should also meet the corresponding standard requirements. Excessive dimensional deviation may affect the stability and quality of welding.
Physical and chemical properties testing
Chemical composition analysis: The chemical composition of welding materials is tested by spectral analysis, chemical titration and other methods. The content of its main alloying elements (such as chromium, nickel, molybdenum, etc.) should meet the corresponding standard requirements and product specifications. For example, for welding rods used to weld 304 stainless steel, the chromium content is generally between 18% and 21%, and the nickel content is between 9% and 11%.
Mechanical properties testing: Tensile tests, bending tests, impact tests, etc. are carried out on welding materials to determine their mechanical properties such as strength, toughness, and plasticity. The tensile strength of the welded joint should not be lower than the minimum tensile strength of the parent material, and indicators such as elongation after fracture and impact absorption energy should also meet the corresponding standard requirements.
Process performance test: In the actual welding process, observe the process performance of the welding material. For example, the arc stability should be good, and there should be no arc breaking or arc deviation during combustion; the fluidity of the slag should be moderate, and it can evenly cover the weld surface to play a good protective role; the weld formation should be beautiful, without obvious defects such as undercut, pores, and slag inclusions.
Quality certification and traceability
Quality certification: Check whether the welding materials have relevant quality certification marks, such as ISO 9001 quality management system certification, AWS (American Welding Society) certification, CE (European Union Conformity Assessment) certification, etc. These certifications are a recognition of product quality, indicating that the product meets the corresponding international or industry standards.
Quality traceability: Regular welding material manufacturers will have a complete quality traceability system. Products usually have batch numbers, furnace numbers and other labels, through which the production batch, raw material source, production process parameters and other information of the product can be traced back, which is convenient for cause analysis and responsibility tracing when quality problems occur.
