What are the welding processes for stainless steel electric heating rings?

There are mainly the following welding processes for stainless steel electric heating rings:
Tungsten inert gas welding (TIG welding)
Principle: The arc heat generated between the tungsten electrode and the workpiece is used to heat the molten metal for welding, and the welding area is protected by argon gas to prevent metal oxidation.
Advantages: High welding quality, stable arc, precise control of welding heat input, beautiful weld formation, suitable for welding in various positions, especially suitable for welding thin plates and occasions with high requirements for weld quality. Due to the good protection effect of argon gas, it can effectively prevent defects such as pores and slag inclusions in the weld, which is particularly suitable for easily oxidized materials such as stainless steel.
Disadvantages: Relatively low welding efficiency, high cost, and high requirements for welder's operating skills.
Scope of application: Commonly used for base welding of stainless steel electric heating rings, welding of thin-walled pipe fittings, and parts with strict requirements for weld quality.
MIG welding
Principle: Using a continuously fed welding wire as an electrode, an arc is generated between the welding wire and the workpiece, and an inert gas (such as argon) is used to protect the welding area, so that the molten welding wire and the base material form a weld under the action of the shielding gas.
Advantages: High welding efficiency, fast deposition speed, suitable for welding of medium and thick plates. Good arc stability, less spatter during welding, beautiful weld formation, and accurate control of welding heat input by adjusting welding parameters, which is conducive to ensuring welding quality.
Disadvantages: The equipment is relatively complex, the cost is high, and the welding environment requirements are high. Windproof measures need to be taken when welding in a windy environment.
Scope of application: Suitable for welding thicker parts of stainless steel electric heating coils, such as the connection between the outer shell of the heating coil and the heating element.
Electric arc welding
Principle: The arc heat generated between the welding rod and the workpiece is used to heat and melt the welding rod and the base material to form a weld. The welding rod coating generates shielding gas and slag during the welding process to protect the weld metal from oxidation and nitridation.
Advantages: The equipment is simple and the operation is flexible. It can be used for welding in various positions and has relatively low requirements for the welding environment. There are many types of welding rods, and suitable welding rods can be selected according to different stainless steel materials and welding requirements.
Disadvantages: The welding efficiency is low, the quality of the weld is greatly affected by the welder's operating skills, and the labor intensity is high. Due to the presence of the welding rod coating, more slag will be produced during the welding process, which needs to be cleaned in time.
Scope of application: Suitable for repair welding of stainless steel electric heating rings, on-site installation welding, and some occasions where the welding quality requirements are not particularly high.
Plasma arc welding
Principle: Use the high temperature and high energy density of the plasma arc to melt the metal for welding. The plasma arc is formed by compressing and constraining the arc, and has the characteristics of concentrated energy, high temperature, and good arc stability.
Advantages: Fast welding speed, high welding quality, large weld depth-to-width ratio, small heat-affected zone, and can effectively reduce welding deformation. It has strong adaptability to the welding of stainless steel materials and can weld stainless steel of various thicknesses, especially suitable for welding thin plates and ultra-thin plates.
Disadvantages: complex equipment, high cost, strict control requirements on welding process parameters, and professional operators are required.
Scope of application: In the manufacture of stainless steel electric heating coils, it is often used for welding parts with high precision and high quality requirements, such as sealing welding of heating coils, welding of micro-sized parts, etc.
