How to use K-type thermocouples to measure temperature

1. What is a K-type thermocouple?
K-type thermocouple is a commonly used temperature measuring instrument, consisting of wires of two different metals (commonly nickel chromium alloy and copper nickel alloy). These two wires are connected as a closed circuit, and the temperature difference generated at both ends will generate a voltage signal. By reading and calculating this voltage signal, we can measure the temperature of the measured object. K-type thermocouples can be used in a wide range of industrial and laboratory applications, with a temperature measurement range typically between -200 ℃ and 1300 ℃.

2. Steps for using K-type thermocouples to measure temperature:
1. Preparation: Firstly, confirm the required temperature range for measurement and select a suitable K-type thermocouple. Meanwhile, ensure that the wiring ports of the thermocouples are clean and free of impurities.

2. Connection wiring: Connect the two wires of the K-type thermocouple to the corresponding wiring ports of the temperature display instrument. Generally speaking, the red wire is connected to the positive pole and the wire is connected to the negative pole.

3. Preheating: Before measurement, let the thermocouple reach thermal equilibrium with the measured object and preheat to a stable state.

4. Reading: Open the temperature display instrument to read the temperature value measured by the thermocouple.
