Due to the fact that PVA is a water-based substance, the film making process conditions are different from those of thermoplastic. Therefore, there are still many technical issues and economic problems when directly applying the above two processes to produce PVA film, such as difficult quality control, low efficiency, high energy consumption, large footprint, and high equipment investment. Therefore, researching and improving these two types of process technologies and equipment to make them more suitable for PVA film production is a key research and development focus in the domestic and international industries.
The two methods of degrading plastic film by PE blown film machine have different characteristics due to significant differences in process flow. According to experts, the process flow of solution casting method is relatively simple, but the product quality is difficult to control, the film yield is low, the energy consumption is high, and the equipment investment is large; The extrusion blown film method has significant improvements in product quality, production efficiency, and other aspects compared to the casting method. However, experts also pointed out that PVA in the extrusion blown film method needs to be modified. After pre granulation, the amount of process and auxiliary materials added is increased. The resin and film need to be heated repeatedly throughout the production process, and the moisture content in the film must be maintained at 15% to 35%. The process is complex, technically difficult, and energy consuming; Moreover, the film is formed, stretched, and shaped simultaneously, making it difficult for molecular chains to move and resulting in poor orientation. As a result, the strength of the resulting film is not high, and the inherent properties of PVA resin are not fully utilized.
