Therefore, people vividly call it skeleton nickel. Ni Al alloy is widely used in industry. When this catalyst is used for glucose hydrogenation, the pH of the solution is generally controlled between 70 and 80. The catalyst is characterized by easy availability of raw materials and low price, but its activity and selectivity, especially its stability, are poor, and the catalyst is easy to break; Nickel and aluminum are prone to loss during the hydrogenation process. Therefore, developed countries around the world currently rarely use this type of catalyst again. The sorbitol industry in China started relatively late, as early as 1958 when Northeast Pharmaceutical Factory produced sorbitol, a raw material for vitamin C. The production process used a 1m3 batch reactor with Raney nickel catalyst as the catalyst; Until the 1990s, most of the production in China's sorbitol industry was still carried out using batch reactor processes, with outdated production technology and the use of homogeneous Raney nickel catalysts [2,4]. Later, China introduced multiple advanced production lines from countries such as Italy and Hungary, and the situation gradually improved.
