Several Forms of Electrical Energy Converted Into Thermal Energy

1. Resistance heating: When the current passes through an object, it overcomes the resistance of the object and does work, converting electrical energy into heat energy. Resistance heating is divided into direct heating and indirect heating. Direct heating uses the resistance of the heated object itself to generate heat, while indirect heating uses the resistance of the heating wire to generate heat.

2. Induction heating: Convert electrical energy into high-variable electric field or high-variable magnetic field energy. The heated object is excited in the alternating electric field or magnetic field and moves in a high-variable manner or generates eddy currents. This phenomenon of heating the heated object in the alternating electric field or magnetic field is also called dielectric heating.

3. Arc heating: Between two electrodes, an arc is generated by space ionization, and electrical energy is converted into heat energy.
