Due to the combustion of volatile materials, chamber furnaces must be placed in a fume hood or equipped with a local exhaust system, such as a canopy or hood.
Muffle Furnace:
Muffle furnaces are chamber furnaces characterized by a compact tabletop and insulated refractory walls capable of maintaining high temperatures.
They are designed for rapid, high-temperature heating and are often used for precision heating applications in laboratory environments.
The term "muffle furnace" also includes other furnace types, such as tube furnaces, crucible furnaces, and split-chamber furnaces, each designed for specific applications, such as continuous processing, melting, and ease of maintenance.
2. Size and Accuracy
While both furnaces are used for high-temperature applications, muffle furnaces are generally more compact and designed for precise control in laboratory environments.
On the other hand, chamber furnaces are generally larger and used in more industrial processes that require handling larger products.
