The difference between industrial ovens and industrial tunnel furnaces

The difference between industrial ovens and industrial tunnel furnaces

Both industrial ovens and industrial tunnel ovens can achieve the functions of drying, dehydration, and heat treatment for products. The difference is that industrial ovens are box type (cabinet/vertical), and the product placement method is generally tray push or push frame push. Tunnel ovens add oven covers to the substrate of the production line, and products are transported from one end of the oven cover into baking, and then output from another section of the oven cover. For products with long baking times, I personally think that ovens are more suitable. For products with long baking times, if you choose a tunnel furnace, you need to consider the length of the tunnel line and the conveying speed. If the length is not enough, products need to be baked repeatedly to achieve results, and you also need to consider whether the product's characteristics can withstand the impact of temperature differences during the repeated baking process.

Common problems with tunnel furnace assembly lines

In the 1950s and 1960s, steam or electric heaters were mainly used as heat sources to achieve drying and solidification. Infrared drying began in the 1960s, far-infrared drying and microwave drying emerged in the 1970s, and high infrared rapid heating technology emerged in the 1990s. With the requirements for temperature control and temperature uniformity, hot air circulation in the furnace has emerged. In the late 1980s, oil (gas) hot air circulation drying and solidification furnaces emerged, and the application of oil (gas) hot air drying and solidification has become increasingly widespread. The use of fuel (gas) heating instead of electric baking is a significant energy-saving technology. In the case of high economic efficiency, the drying and solidification process using burner fuel hot air circulation heating has become mainstream in the coating production line. The hot air circulation drying room has the characteristics of uniform heating, small temperature difference between upper and lower parts, large adjustable drying temperature range, and convenient use and maintenance.

1. The surface temperature outside the drying area is too high

Improper selection of insulation materials in the area is the main reason for poor insulation effect, excessive surface temperature, and inadequate insulation performance. This not only leads to an increase in energy consumption, but also does not comply with the requirements of Article 5.9.2 of the national standard GB1444321993 "Safety Regulations for Coating Operations - Safety Technical Regulations for Coating Drying Rooms": the drying area should have good insulation, and the surface temperature of the outer wall should not be higher than room temperature by 15 ℃.

2. Improper or unset exhaust emission pipelines

Some drying assembly lines, tunnel furnaces, and other drying trunk lines do not have their exhaust pipe outlets connected to the outside, and in the workshop, the exhaust gas is directly discharged into the workshop, causing air pollution inside the workshop; Some drying assembly lines, tunnel furnaces, and other drying trunk lines do not have exhaust gas discharge outlets located in areas with high exhaust gas concentration Z, which is not conducive to the rapid discharge of exhaust gas, preventing accumulation, and does not meet the requirements of Article 5.1.6 of the national standard GB1444321993: the exhaust outlet position in the drying area should be set in areas with high combustible gas concentration Z. After spraying, the workpiece enters the drying and curing chamber. Due to the varying degrees of organic solvent content in the coating, organic solvent waste gas will be generated during the drying and curing process. Organic solvent waste gas has combustibility. If the waste gas is not discharged from the drying chamber in time and accumulates in the drying chamber, once the concentration is too high, it will cause safety hazards.
