After long-term use, electric heaters in production may occasionally experience malfunctions due to internal or external factors. As a professional electric heater manufacturer, Yutai Explosion-Proof has analyzed common malfunctions and solutions, hoping to be helpful.
Fault 1: Failure to Heat
The main cause of failure to heat is a burnt heating wire or a broken wire at the junction box.
Fault 2: Cracked Heating Tube
If a cracked heating tube is present, it's usually due to corrosion, but rarely due to external impact.
Fault 3: Leakage
This fault accounts for over 90% of all failures and is primarily caused by a tripped automatic circuit breaker or residual current device (RFD), preventing the heating tube from heating.
Solution:
1. For Failure to Heat (Failure to Heat): Check the heating wire and the junction box for broken wires. If the wire is broken inside the heating tube, it needs to be replaced. If it's simply a broken or loose wire, rewiring and tightening it is sufficient.
2. The solution for fault phenomenon 2, a cracked heating element, is to replace it with a new one and properly protect it.
3. The solution for fault phenomenon 3, leakage, is to identify the leaking location (referred to in the industry as the "leak point") and address the situation accordingly. If the leak is in the heating element itself, oven-baking can be used to resolve the issue. If the insulation resistance does not improve, the heating element may need to be replaced. If water has entered the junction box, use a heat gun to dry it out. If the wiring surface is broken, wrap it with electrical tape. If the damage is severe, replace the cable with a new one of the same specifications.
