The ultimate solution to the problem of poor electroplating

Flowchart for avoiding poor electroplating
Electroplating refers to the electrolysis of the base metal as the cathode in a salt solution containing pre plated metal. A surface treatment method in which cations pre plated in a plating solution are deposited on the surface of the substrate metal to form a coating. Therefore, electroplated parts can prevent corrosion, improve wear resistance, hardness, conductivity, lubrication, heat resistance, reflectivity, and aesthetics.
When we look around, we find that electroplating exists in all aspects of life, and the pens we casually write have electroplating labels. Electroplating is almost ubiquitous in electroplating, clothing, not to mention cars, mobile phones, and computers. Electroplating in electroplating plants is the process of applying a thin layer of other metals or alloys to certain metal surfaces using the principle of electrolysis. It is a process of using electrolysis to attach a metal film to the surface of metal or other material products, thereby preventing metal oxidation, improving wear resistance, conductivity, reflectivity, corrosion resistance, and enhancing aesthetics. The outer layer of many coins is also electroplated.
However, the electroplated product may also have some defects, such as foaming, peeling, pitting, roughness, exposed substrate, corrosion, electroplated coke, impurities, etc. These poor products will hinder the sustainable development of enterprises. Therefore, the inspection of electroplated parts is an essential task after electroplating is completed, and only qualified products can be handed over to the next process.
The basic inspection items for electroplating include film thickness, adhesion, weldability, appearance, packaging, salt spray test, etc. When electroplating in an electroplating plant, the coated metal or other insoluble materials are used as the anode, and the workpiece to be plated is used as the cathode. The cations of the coated metal are reduced on the surface of the workpiece to form a coating. To eliminate interference from other cations and make the coating uniform and firm, it is necessary to use a solution containing the metal cations of the coating as the electroplating solution to maintain the concentration of the metal cations of the coating unchanged. Poor electroplating also has different effects on products of different properties. For example, decorative appearance defects may lead to lower product quality than expected, but will not lead to functional failure; Functional surface defects refer to the corrosion of the substrate of a product during use, and such defects are not allowed to exist in any part that has already undergone surface treatment.
