Typical cases and solutions encountered when injection molding machine malfunctions?
Leave a message
Case 1: Screw stuck.
Fault manifestation: The injection molding machine makes an unusual noise and the screw cannot rotate.
Fault analysis: Upon investigation, it was discovered that the screw was stuck in the barrel, probably due to solidification of the material or obstruction by foreign items.
resolvent:
1. Stop the machine immediately, disconnect the power, and avoid additional damage.
2. Disassemble the material barrel and screw, then clear out any accumulated glue or foreign objects inside.
3. Check if the screw, barrel, bearings, and other components are damaged, and repair them as needed.
4. Adjust injection molding settings, such as temperature, pressure, and speed, to prevent the material from solidifying.
5. Reassemble and test the screw to check that it rotates smoothly.
Case 2: Mold Damage.
Fault manifestation: The injection molded product contains flaws, and an inspection revealed that the mold is damaged.
Fault Analysis: It could be caused by a poor choice of mold materials, insufficient cooling, or inappropriate operation.
resolvent:
To prevent waste in production, immediately stop down the machine. Then, disassemble the mold and inspect the damaged area for the cause.
3. Select more appropriate mold materials or adjust the cooling system based on the current situation.
4. Teach operators how to use and maintain molds more effectively.
5. After repairing or replacing the mold, run a trial mold to confirm that the product fulfills the specifications.
Case 3: Servo motor malfunction.
Fault manifestation: The injection molding machine does not function properly, and crucial components cannot be driven.
Fault analysis: An inspection revealed that the servo motor is faulty.
resolvent:
To prevent further damage to the motor, immediately stop the machine and turn off the power source. Next, remove the motor and inspect it for mechanical damage, broken wiring, and other concerns. If required, replace or repair the motor.
4. Check that the servo drive is operational and undertake parameter debugging. 5. Reinstall the motor and test it to confirm that all performance indicators satisfy the specifications.
