What are the advantages of vacuum chrome PVD coating compared to traditional chemical plating (water plating)?
A4: The same point between PVD coating and traditional electroless plating is that both belong to the category of surface treatment, and they both make one material cover the surface of another material in a certain way. The difference between the two is that the bonding force between the PVD coating film and the workpiece surface is greater, the hardness of the film is higher, the wear resistance and corrosion resistance are better, and the performance of the film is more stable; PVD coating can be plated. The types of coatings are more extensive, and the colors of various coatings that can be plated are more and more beautiful; PVD coating does not produce toxic or polluting substances.
Barrel plating produced by vacuum chrome plating
The current density varies greatly. Although the cathode current density of barrel plating is relatively large, due to the large difference in current density, most of the current is consumed on the workpiece with high current density, and the average current density is very small. As a result, the cathode current efficiency is low. Thickness is difficult to guarantee.
There is also chemical dissolution during the barrel plating process. When the workpiece is rolled, the current will be intermittent, and the thickening of the coating requires a longer barrel coating time. However, it is still difficult to thicken the coating locally.
Adjust the main salt concentration in time. The main salt in the barrel plating solution is consumed quickly, which is mainly caused by the fact that the anode area is often insufficient, and the workpiece is lost when it is out of the tank. When the main salt content is too low, the current efficiency will decrease, and the coating is difficult to be thickened, so it needs to be adjusted in time according to the laboratory analysis data.
The pretreatment of barrel plated parts is difficult. Barrel plating can only be pre-treated in the basket, and it is inevitable that there will be overlaps, so it is difficult to completely remove the dirt. Therefore, the barrel plating solution is easily polluted. Since the barrel plating solution is more sensitive to impurities, the purification treatment of the solution has a large workload, which is often easy to delay production.
The pH of the barrel plating solution varies widely. The change in pH value is more pronounced especially in barrel nickel plating. This is because of the intense hydrogen evolution in local parts during the barrel nickel plating process. In order to maintain production, the pH value needs to be adjusted frequently.
