Working principle of rubber extruder

The working principle of rubber extruder: There are many rubber products in our daily life. The car tires we usually see are made of rubber, and many products we usually see are made of rubber. Many products can be completed in one go and are also common in our daily lives. Some shoe soles are also made of rubber, and when processing rubber, a rubber extruder is required, which is a device used for extrusion. Now let's understand the working principle and classification of rubber extruders.

The working principle of a rubber extruder is that it performs all the above processes through a cylinder with a screw and a spiral channel. Plastic particles enter the barrel through a funnel at one end and are then transported to the other end by a screw. The depth of the screw thread decreases as the distance from the hopper increases to obtain sufficient pressure. The friction between plastic and screws generates external and internal heat, and since then, in the first 50 years of the 19th century, rubber extruders have mainly been used for the production of lead pipes, the processing of pasta and other foods, and the brick and ceramic industry.

The spiral type rubber extruder that appeared in 1870 was a heat fed extruder. The incoming rubber material must be hot-melt, uniformly and stably supplied at a constant speed, and the material temperature should be maintained at 50-70 ℃. The screw is short, the thread groove is deep, and the homogenization effect is not ideal. Since 1970. At a certain point, the aspect ratio decreases. Hot feed extruders are still used in the production of many products due to their advantages of continuous extrusion, simple operation, high production efficiency, and stable shape of extruded products. In tire production, it is used to extrude various treads, various rubbers, as well as rubber products such as hoses and cables, and to extrude rubber and rubber blanks.

Cold feed extruders appeared in 1940, began to be promoted and popularized in 1960, and became the mainstream of development in 1980. By the beginning of 1990, the production of cold feed extruders in developed countries such as Europe and America had accounted for 95% of the total production. There are independent screw extruders, baffle screw extruders, hole screw extruders, transfer mixing extruders, pin screw extruders, and multi-channel transfer mixing screw extruders.

The advantages of rubber extruder are high output. It has other advantages of ordinary twin-screw extruder and can achieve high output. To reduce production costs, it is often necessary to change the color when making masterbatch. If changes are needed to the product, open the processing area for a few minutes. By observing the distribution of the melt on the screw, the mixing process can also be analyzed. At present, ordinary twin-screw extruders require a large amount of cleaning materials to clean the machine during color change, which is time-consuming, consumes electricity, and wastes raw materials. The split type twin-screw extruder can solve this problem by changing the color, opening the cylinder in just a few minutes, and manually cleaning, which can save costs without or with less cleaning materials.

To improve labor efficiency in equipment maintenance, ordinary twin-screw extruders often need to first remove the heating and cooling systems, and then remove the entire screw. The split twin-screw is not. Simply loosen a few bolts, rotate the worm gear box handle device to lift the upper half of the extension cylinder, and the entire cylinder can be opened for maintenance. This shortens maintenance time and reduces labor intensity. Widely applicable and suitable for processing various materials.
