Operation steps of cable insulation extrusion equipment
Leave a message
Cable insulation extrusion is a key process in cable production to ensure electrical safety and stable performance, and its operation process is precise and complex. The following are the operating steps for cable insulation extrusion equipment:
Equipment inspection and preparation: Before starting operation, a comprehensive equipment inspection should be conducted to ensure that all components are intact and fasteners are not loose, especially key parts such as heating devices, temperature control systems, and extruder heads. At the same time, select suitable molds according to production needs and carefully inspect them to confirm that there is no damage or foreign object blockage. Prepare the required raw materials, such as plastic pellets or rubber compounds, and mix and stir according to the formula requirements.
Preheating and temperature control: Start the heating device to preheat the entire extrusion system, including the barrel, screw, mold, and other parts. Gradually increase the temperature to the set value and maintain stability through the control system. This step is crucial for the plasticizing effect of the material, directly affecting the quality and performance of the final product.
Feeding and Extrusion: When the preset temperature is reached, the feeding system is turned on to evenly feed the pre treated raw materials into the hopper of the extruder. As the screw rotates, the material is pushed forward and melted into a molten state by heating. During this process, it is necessary to closely monitor the changes in extrusion pressure and temperature, and adjust parameters in a timely manner to maintain optimal working conditions.
Cooling and solidification: After the molten insulation material is extruded from the mold mouth, it immediately enters a cooling water tank or other form of cooling device for rapid cooling and solidification. This step determines the thickness uniformity and surface smoothness of the insulation layer, so it is necessary to ensure cooling efficiency and effectiveness.
Traction and winding: A constant speed traction device is used to pull the preliminarily formed cable through a series of guide wheels until it reaches the winding area. During this process, appropriate tension should be maintained to avoid deformation or damage to the insulation layer. Finally, neatly wrap the finished cable around the dedicated shaft to complete the entire production process. Cable insulation extrusion is a technical process involving multiple steps, each of which requires precise execution to ensure product quality meets standard requirements. In addition, regular maintenance of equipment and optimization of process parameters are also effective ways to improve production efficiency and reduce costs.
