On March 21, Ningde Times said that its Kirin battery released last year had been confirmed for mass production. On the same day, Jikron said that its MPV model equipped with the battery, Jikron 009, was expected to be delivered in the second quarter of this year. Affected by this news, the stock price trend of Ningde Times has shown a slight recovery trend for two consecutive days. On March 22, the intraday gain of Ningde Times reached 3.66%.
Kirin battery was born in June 2022, aiming to benchmark the BYD blade battery and the Tesla 4680 battery. Therefore, it received great attention when it was launched.
According to the official release information, the characteristics of Kirin batteries are long battery life, fast charging, and space saving.
According to the technical parameters provided by Ningde Times, the volume utilization rate of the Kirin battery can reach up to 72%. The new battery pack can increase the energy density of the ternary battery system to 255 Wh/kg, and the energy density of the lithium iron phosphate battery system to 160 Wh/kg, which also means that the battery pack is suitable for both the current mainstream lithium ternary and lithium iron phosphate systems.
When using a three element battery, the power of the Kirin battery is 13% higher than that of the Tesla 4680 battery at the same volume; When using a lithium iron phosphate battery cell, it is 14% higher than a BYD blade battery. In terms of space utilization efficiency, the Kirin battery built based on CTP3.0 technology provides a better solution.
With the support of 255W · h/kg energy density, even a 150kW · h battery pack weighs less than 600kg, which is close to the weight of most high endurance products on the current market. This is also the confidence of Ningde Times in shouting 1000 km of endurance mileage.
In the video released last year, Ningde Times fully benchmarking the Tesla 4680 battery. In terms of system energy density, the Kirin battery can reach 255Wh/kg, and the 4680 battery can reach 217Wh/kg; In terms of volume utilization, the Kirin battery can reach 72%, and the 4680 battery can reach 63%; In terms of fast charging speed, it only takes 10 minutes for Kirin batteries to charge from 10% to 80%, while it takes 15 minutes for 4680 batteries.
The meaning of Ningde Times is very clear. In terms of battery packaging technology, it is still the industry leader. Even if Tesla wants to get rid of its dependence on itself through the 4680 battery, the highest quality battery technology is always in the hands of the Ningde era.
According to the plan, in addition to the extremely Krypton, many models in the AITO industry will also be equipped with Kirin batteries in the future.
"Qilin" Value Geometry
Tesla's 4680 battery, which has been built for many years, has not yet been mass produced. BYD's blade battery is also limited by the characteristics of lithium iron phosphate approaching the performance limit. The landing of Kirin battery is a major breakthrough in current power battery technology.

GAC Aian, Weilai, Dongfeng, etc. have all announced that they will launch products with a range of more than 1000 kilometers; Solid state batteries, which are being promoted by power battery manufacturers, also aim to extend their range to over 1000 kilometers.
The Ningde era, which took the lead in obtaining pole position, will help pure electric vehicles combat the current rapid growth of plug-in and hybrid technology.
However, just as the decentralization of F1 racing technology requires consideration of issues such as durability and cost, Kirin Battery faces the same "parity" challenge as competing products' core advantages, such as "Kirin Battery 4C Charging Ratio" and "255Wh/kg Energy Density Battery Pack".
The concept of a 10 minute fast charge of 80% is not without a similar precedent in the industry. Last year, the 480kW overcharge technology introduced by GAC Aian can even reach 6C charging rate, achieving a charging efficiency of 5-10 minutes and a range of 200-400km. However, under objective conditions, ultra-high current fast charging not only poses high requirements for the battery management system, but also multiplies the demand for charging piles and grid infrastructure.
