Advantages and disadvantages of platinum rhodium thermocouples
Leave a message
Platinum rhodium thermocouple is one of the numerous examples of temperature sensors and is often used in industry applications. But we know that no matter how perfect an item is, it will always have certain shortcomings. Therefore, in the process of application, we should be careful to prevent deviations and problems caused by the malfunction of platinum rhodium thermocouples, and fully utilize their strengths to assist us in accurate measurement.
Advantages: Platinum rhodium thermocouples have the highest degree of existence in the thermocouple series, stability, wide temperature measurement range, long application life, and long lower temperature limit. It is suitable for use in oxidizing and inert atmospheres, and can also be used in vacuum for a short period of time, but it is not suitable for restorative atmospheres or atmospheres containing metal or non-metal vapors. A significant advantage of B-type thermocouples is that they do not require compensating wires to stop compensating, as the thermoelectric potential is less than 3 μ V in the range of 0-50 ℃.
Problem: The deficiency of platinum rhodium thermocouples lies in their thermoelectric potential, which is relatively small and has low sensitivity. The machine strength decreases at low temperatures, making it highly sensitive to infections. Precious metal materials are expensive, so the one-time investment is relatively large.
