Analysis of Thermocouple Calibration Error and Uncertainty

Thermocouples should be cleaned, annealed, and then bundled into the furnace before calibration. The calibration is carried out at three fixed points of zinc (419.527 ℃), aluminum (660.323 ℃), and copper (1084.62 ℃). At the beginning of the measurement, the measurement sequence is from low temperature to high temperature point by point calibration. The deviation of the calibration furnace temperature from the calibration point temperature shall not exceed ± 5 ℃. When the furnace temperature rises to the set calibration point and the temperature change is observed to be less than 0.1 ℃/min (S-type and R-type thermocouples), the measurement begins
The total uncertainty of the platinum rhodium 10 platinum thermocouple calibration device is 0.78 ℃, which is less than the allowable basic error of the tested thermocouple of 4.0 ℃. It meets the requirement of measuring standard equipment uncertainty being 1/3 to 1/10 of the uncertainty of the calibrated testing equipment, and meets the requirements of thermocouple calibration. From the above analysis, it can be seen that due to the many measures taken to eliminate or avoid errors in thermocouple calibration, the total uncertainty of the tested thermocouple is minimized. Therefore, in the verification work, it is necessary to strictly follow the verification regulations, continuously learn, and do more detailed work from various aspects such as personnel, equipment, methods, environment, and the characteristics of the verified thermocouple, in order to minimize the measurement uncertainty and ensure the transmission accuracy of the thermocouple.
