Analysis of Thermocouple Wiring Methods

The installation of thermocouple terminals is the first step in using thermocouples. Correct installation can make the thermocouple work more efficient and more accurate, while installation errors may cause errors in thermocouple measurements or even damage the thermocouple.

How to connect thermocouples:

In fact, thermocouple wiring is divided into two poles, namely positive and negative. If we observe, we can see the calibration on the wiring board.

The calibration above is: +, -, but some manufacturers do not distinguish between positive and negative. If we encounter such a situation, we need to judge by experience:

1. Distinguish by the color of the wiring, green is positive, and gray is negative.

2. Measure with a thermometer.

3. Check the temperature after wiring.

4. If it is sucked, you can also use a magnet to determine.

5. The compensation wire also needs to be correctly wired, and there are also positive and negative poles.

6. When connecting the instrument, we should also pay attention to the positive and negative poles. Generally, the terminals are marked. If not, please refer to the instructions.

When wiring the thermocouple, we should also pay attention to the fact that the general terminal block cannot be used for the wiring of the thermocouple, because the guide bar in the terminal is usually made of special copper material such as electrolytic copper, which is different from the copper material that makes up the thermocouple. Unlike the general combination terminal block, which is provided by piece, the thermocouple terminal block is provided in pairs.

The guide bar of each pair of thermocouple terminals is made of different metal materials. There are different terminal blocks for different types of thermocouples.

The conductive material used in the thermocouple terminal should be completely consistent with the conductive material that makes up the thermocouple, so as to ensure the accuracy of the thermocouple signal during the transmission process.

Industrial assembled thermocouples are usually used in conjunction with display instruments, recording instruments and electronic regulators as transmitters for measuring temperature. It can directly measure the surface temperature of liquids, steam and gaseous media and solids in various production processes ranging from 0℃ to 1800℃.
