In addition to material factors, the factors that affect the service life of silicone rubber electric heating plates include the following:
Working conditions
Temperature: Long-term operation at high temperatures will accelerate the aging of silicone rubber and resistance wire. Beyond the rated temperature range, the service life will be greatly shortened for each temperature increase. For example, in a high temperature environment, silicone rubber is prone to aging phenomena such as cracking, hardening or softening, and the resistance wire is also more prone to oxidation and breakage.
Voltage stability: Voltage fluctuations cause unstable power of the heating plate. If the voltage is too high, the current of the resistance wire is too large, which generates too much heat, accelerates the oxidation of the resistance wire and the aging of the silicone rubber; if the voltage is too low, the heating plate cannot reach the normal working temperature, which may change the performance of the internal components and affect the service life.
Working environment: The presence of corrosive gases, humidity, and dust will have an adverse effect on the heating plate. Corrosive gases will corrode the resistance wire and silicone rubber; the humid environment will reduce the insulation performance and may cause a short circuit; dust accumulates on the surface of the heating plate, affecting heat dissipation, causing the temperature to rise and accelerating aging.
Manufacturing process
Production process control: The vulcanization process, the resistance wire winding process, etc. are very important for the quality and service life of the heating plate. Improper vulcanization time and temperature control will cause the performance of silicone rubber to be unstable; uneven winding of the resistance wire will cause uneven heat distribution, resulting in local overheating and affecting the service life.
Packaging quality: Good packaging can protect internal components from the influence of the external environment. If the packaging is not strict, the outside air, water vapor, etc. will enter the interior, which will accelerate the aging and corrosion of the components.
Use and maintenance
Installation method: If the installation is too tight, the heating plate will be subjected to additional stress when it expands due to heat, causing the silicone rubber to crack or the resistance wire to be damaged; if the installation is too loose, there will be a gap between the heating plate and the heated object, affecting the heat conduction effect, causing the local temperature to be too high, which will shorten the service life.
Regular maintenance: Regularly clean the dust and debris on the surface of the heating plate, check whether the connection parts are loose, and tighten the loose parts in time to prevent the increase of contact resistance and cause overheating, which will help to extend the service life of the heating plate.
