Injection molding process knowledge of 18 common plastic raw materials

1. TPU: The baking temperature depends on the hardness. For 60A-80A, use 90-100°C; for 85A-98A, use 100-105°C; for 60D-71D, use 105-110°C for 3-5 hours.
2. LCP: The baking and molding temperatures vary between different manufacturers. For example, the EI series from Polyplastics Japan is suitable for molding at 340-370°C, with an upper limit of 365°C for no more than 30 minutes.
3. PA Properties: A crystalline thermoplastic with a distinct melting point. Nylon 6 has a Tm of 220-230°C, while Nylon 66 has a Tm of 260-270°C. Nylon is inherently hygroscopic and therefore requires drying before molding. Drying at too high a temperature can cause discoloration of the nylon pellets.
4. PC/ABS plastic material generally has a specific gravity of 1.15, a water absorption rate of 0.2%, a molding shrinkage of 0.4-0.6, and a heat distortion temperature of 120%. The drying temperature should be 100°C, and the material should be baked at a temperature of 100-110°C for 3-4 hours.
5. AS: Nozzle temperature: 190-210°C, injection pressure: 50-60°C, holding pressure: 40-50°C, mold temperature: 50-70°C, screw speed: 40-60°C, back pressure: 5-10°C, baking temperature: 80-100°C, baking time: 2-4 hours.
6. PBT plastic material: Nozzle temperature: 230-245°C, injection pressure: 70-120°C, holding pressure: 40-50°C, mold temperature: 50-160°C, screw speed: 40-70°C, back pressure: 5-10°C, baking temperature: 100-140°C, baking time: 4-6 hours.
7 PET: Nozzle 240-270°F, Injection Pressure 70-100°F, Holding Pressure 40-50°F, Mold Temperature 50-160°F, Screw Speed 40-75°F, Screw Back Pressure 5-10°F, Curing Temperature 100-140°F, Curing Time 6-8 hours.
8 PC Plastic Material: Nozzle 270-300°F, Mold Temperature 80-120°F, Curing Temperature 100-120°F, Curing Time 2-4 hours.
9 PA6: Nozzle 250-260°F, Mold Temperature 50-110°F, Curing Temperature 80-110°F, Curing Time 4-6 hours.
10 PA66 Plastic Material: Nozzle 250-280°F, Mold Temperature 50-110°F, Curing Temperature 80-130°F, Curing Time 4-6 hours.
11. PPS plastic material: Nozzle temperature 290-300°C, mold temperature 80-150°C, baking temperature 120-140°C, baking time 2-4 hours.
12. LCP: Nozzle temperature 300-310°C, mold temperature 90-180°C, baking temperature 130-140°C, baking time 2-4 hours.
13. DuPont POM plastic material: Nozzle temperature 170-230°C, mold temperature 50-80°C, baking temperature 80-120°C, baking time 2-4 hours.
14. PP: Nozzle temperature 200-220°C, mold temperature 40-60°C, baking temperature 80-120°C, baking time 2-4 hours.
15. PPO: Nozzle temperature 210-260°C, mold temperature 50-90°C, baking temperature 80-140°C, baking time 2-4 hours.
16. PEI: Nozzle 300-320°C, Mold temperature 180-200°C, Material temperature 120-140°C, Bake time 2-4 hours.
17. PEEK: Nozzle 310-360°C, Mold temperature 120-160°C, Material temperature 120-140°C, Bake time 2-4 hours.
18. PA46: Nozzle 290-300°C, Mold temperature 80-120°C, Material temperature 290-300°C, Bake time 2-4 hours.
