Is the electric heating thermal oil furnace too power consuming? Perhaps these are the reasons

In recent years, with the increase of environmental protection efforts in various regions, many coal-fired boilers used in sheet metal processing, rubber, food, sanitary materials, printing and dyeing, and chemical plants have been restricted from use. The electric heating thermal oil furnace, as a substitute for coal-fired boilers, has received widespread attention. However, due to a lack of understanding of the power consumption of electric heating thermal oil furnaces, many people feel that electric heating thermal oil furnaces consume too much electricity. Is this really the case?
There are two main power consuming components in the electric heating thermal oil furnace, one is the electric heating tube and the other is the circulating pump. During the use of the electric heating thermal oil furnace, after setting a certain temperature required by the process, the electric heating thermal oil furnace will continue to operate, resulting in a significant loss of electrical energy. After reaching the temperature, the heating part of the thermal oil furnace only plays a temperature regulating role in normal production in the later stage, and the power consumption will be greatly reduced. If the electric heating thermal oil furnace consumes too much electricity, there may be the following reasons!
1, Factors affecting the efficiency of heating tubes
Electric heating thermal oil furnaces often use plug-in electric heating tubes filled with magnesium oxide powder for alloy resistance wires.
1. The purity of magnesium oxide powder: The purity of magnesium oxide directly determines the thermal conductivity of magnesium sand. The higher the thermal conductivity, the lower the thermal resistance. The higher the heat transfer efficiency.
2. Magnesium oxide powder filling density: The final density of the electric heating tube is determined by the filling density, shrink tube or shaping density. The higher the density value, the higher the electric heating efficiency, and vice versa.
3. Electric heating tube material: Using materials with good thermal conductivity has a certain promoting effect on improving electric heating efficiency and improving the performance and lifespan of electric heating tubes.
2, Selection of circulating pump power
The circulation system, as an important component of the electric heating thermal oil furnace, also occupies a certain amount of power consumption. Its power consumption is also a problem that many people tend to overlook. The power of the circulating pump should consider factors such as pipe diameter, length, and pressure, and be calculated and selected to ensure the optimal flow rate when the electric heating thermal oil furnace is used in conjunction with the heating equipment.
In the industry, some electric heating thermal oil furnace manufacturers, for the sake of safety, simply choose high-power circulation pumps for customers without calculation. For example, 5KW is sufficient, but 10KW is chosen. If the electric heating thermal oil furnace works 12 hours a day, it wastes 60 degrees of electricity in a day.
3, Prevent and clean carbon deposits in thermal oil
1. Prevent carbon accumulation in heat transfer oil: If the temperature of the heat transfer oil is too high, it will carbonize. The surface temperature of the heating tube is very high. If the flow rate of the heat transfer oil inside the heating tube is too low, it will cause the local temperature of the heat transfer oil on the surface of the heating tube to be too high, forming carbon deposits.
2. When the electric heating thermal oil furnace stops working, the temperature should be lowered to room temperature first to avoid high-temperature shutdown. At the moment of shutdown during high-temperature operation, the surface of the heating tube is still in a high-temperature state. At this time, the flow of the thermal oil inside the heating tube cylinder stops, which will cause the local temperature of the thermal oil on the surface of the heating tube to be too high, forming carbon deposits.
3. Generally, when using heat transfer oil for more than half a year, it is necessary to replace and clean the oil scale on the surface of the heating tube, which is also a method to improve the efficiency of the electric heating heat transfer oil furnace.
