Is there an easier way to regenerate color-changing silicone?

Color-changing silicone can be regenerated most easily by putting it in a domestic oven at 100–120℃ for 1–2 hours. This is the finest option for efficiency and safety. If you don't have an oven, there are other options, but they will take longer.

1. Easiest Regeneration Method: One Button Operation with Household Oven

Steps:

Place the cleaned or wet silicone flat in a heat proof container;

Put it in the oven and set the oven at 110℃ for 1 hour;

Turn off the power and let it cool naturally for 30 minutes. Seal and store within 5 minutes.

Pros: Temperature control, even heating, full recovery, can be used for daily domestic use.

Tips: Can be used on their own from food to prevent cross-contamination.

 

2. No Equipment Alternatives (It's Easier, But Slower)

Leave the silica gel in the sun for 2 days, and then put it in a sealed container with fresh desiccant.

Localised drying, requires numerous cycles.

Near a Radiator

Leave next to a radiator for 3-5 days in winter.

3. Successful Regeneration Criteria

Full Colour Recovery:Blue silica gel will return to dark blue, orange silica gel will revert to light orange.

No Pink/Dark Green Areas:Means all the moisture is gone.

Loose and dry granules: No moisture, no clumping.
