Silicone heating pads, which are also referred to as silicone rubber heating sheets (heating plates), are also referred to as electric heating films, electric heating tapes, electric heating sheets, oil cylinder heaters, heating belts, and heating plates. They are also known by different names. They consist of two sheets of fibreglass cloth and double-layered silicone elastomer that are pressed together. Exceptional flexibility is facilitated by the thin sheets (typically 1.5mm thick) of silicone heating pads, which enable them to establish a complete and secure connection with the object being heated. The heating element is more easily conformed to by their flexibility, and their shape can be customised to meet specific heating requirements, facilitating heat transfer to any desired location. Silicone heaters are composed of arranged nickel alloy resistance wires, which renders them safe for use, in contrast to the primary composition of carbon in typical planar heating elements. Additionally, these planar heaters can be customised to fit a variety of shapes. Silicone heating elements are thin-film electric heating devices that are bendable and flexible. The process involves the uniform distribution of foil-like or filamentous metal heating elements between glass fibre cloth that has been coated with high-temperature-resistant silicone rubber. The resulting composite is then moulded at a high temperature. They are lightweight, typically weighting 1.3–1.9 kg per square metre, and are thin, measuring 0.8–1.5 mm in thickness. They possess a large heating surface area, uniform heating, are weather-resistant, corrosion-resistant, environmentally friendly, flame-retardant, simple to install, have a long lifespan, and high insulation strength. Additionally, they heat up rapidly when energised. They are employed in a variety of electric heating devices.
