Standard operating procedures for spray dryers

I. Installing Components

1. Ensure all components are intact and assembled correctly according to the equipment instruction manual.

2. Carefully check that all connections between components are secure to prevent material leakage or equipment malfunction.

II. Starting the Fan and Heater

1. Turn on the power switch and start the fan, ensuring unobstructed airflow.

2. Gradually increase the heater power to raise the inlet air temperature to the preset value.

III. Setting Inlet and Outlet Air Temperatures

1. Set appropriate inlet and outlet air temperatures based on material characteristics and drying requirements.

2. Monitor temperature changes carefully to ensure the equipment operates within the set temperature range.

IV. Starting the Peristaltic Pump

1. Start the peristaltic pump to atomize the material through the nozzles.

2. Adjust the peristaltic pump speed appropriately based on material properties and drying effect.

V. Observing Material Atomization

1. Observe whether the material atomization is uniform and whether the spray angle is appropriate.

2. If the atomization effect is poor, adjust the nozzle position or replace the nozzle.

VI. Feeding and Temperature Monitoring

1. Add the material to be dried to the spray dryer using a peristaltic pump.

2. Monitor the material temperature and drying effect in real time to ensure product quality.

VII. Turning Off the Peristaltic Pump After Material Use

1. Turn off the peristaltic pump promptly when the material is used up.

2. Clean the peristaltic pump and feed pipes to prevent residual material from damaging the equipment.

VIII. Turning Off the Air Compressor

1. After turning off the peristaltic pump, turn off the air compressor.

2. Ensure the pressure in the compressed air system drops to a safe range.

IX. Turning Off the Heater

1. After turning off the air compressor, gradually reduce the heater's power.

2. When the inlet air temperature drops to a safe range, turn off the heater.

X. Turning Off the Fan

1. After turning off the heater, turn off the fan.

2. Ensure the equipment is completely cooled before proceeding with subsequent operations.

XI. Transferring Material

1. Open the equipment door and remove the dried material from the equipment.

2. Transfer the materials to the designated container and store them properly.

XII. Cleaning the Drying Container

1. Use a suitable cleaning agent and tools to thoroughly clean the drying container.

2. After cleaning, rinse thoroughly with clean water and allow to air dry.

3. Check the inside of the drying container for any residue or damage; address any issues promptly.
