If the outer sheath is damaged, it may cause electric breakdown and spark. Therefore, in order to prevent damage to the electric tracing band, the insulation layer and waterproof layer should be installed as soon as possible after the insulation test is qualified.
The thermal insulation layer and waterproof layer are important components of the electric heat tracing system and must be installed in strict accordance with the design requirements. The insulation layer is installed on the surface of the electric tracing band to prevent heat loss and centralized heating. At the same time, the insulation layer also plays the role of isolation and protection, extending the service life of the electric tracing band.
When installing the insulation layer, the insulation material must be dry, because the wet insulation material will affect the insulation effect, and will also corrode the electric heat tracing products, shortening the service life of the entire electric heat tracing insulation system. After the installation of thermal insulation materials, the waterproof layer must be installed immediately, otherwise the thermal insulation performance will be reduced and the normal use of the heat tracing system will be affected. When installing the waterproof layer, the metal plate shall be prevented from cutting the jacket of the electric tracing band. The screw for fixing the waterproof iron sheet shall not be too long to avoid piercing the jacket.
