What Troubles Will Mismatched Thermocouple Polarity Cause

Internal core wires and connecting wires of K-type hot runner thermocouples strictly distinguish between positive and negative polarity. Common concealed flaws in everyday replacement and wiring include polarity reversal and incorrect connection, which can cause a number of perplexing temperature control issues and significantly disrupt regular output.

A fully disorganized temperature display is the most obvious sign of reversed polarity. The controller displays a temperature that is either negative or significantly lower than the actual value. Many materials are carbonized and damaged quickly as a result of the system's blindly raising heating power in response to incorrect low-temperature signals, which causes severe overheating inside the hot runner flow channel.

A slight misconnection in polarity will result in a persistent, significant temperature variation. The displayed temperature is consistently either higher or lower than the working temperature, and standard precision cannot be attained through repeated calibration. Mold testing and process debugging become much more challenging as a result of technicians constantly changing process temperature parameters without being able to stable product quality.

The temperature controller's unexpected failure alarm will also result from polarity confusion. The system regularly generates false alarms for thermocouple open circuit and short circuit, which cannot be removed by examining the line connection. This leads to frequent production halt inspections and significantly reduces continuous production efficiency.

In addition to causing irreversible wear damage to thermocouple internal alloy wires, long-term reversed polarity use accelerates core wire aging drift and immediately discards qualified sensors. In the meantime, incorrect polarity signals will interfere with the controller's PID intelligent regulating logic, causing frequent temperature overshoot and abrupt fluctuations in portions with steady temperatures.

In order to ensure that the temperature rising trend is normal, it is necessary to perform a low-temperature power-on test after wiring is finished, confirm the positive-negative pole definition of the controller terminal, and strictly distinguish wire color specifications in accordance with industry standards during wiring replacement. Adjust the polarity reversal as soon as it is discovered, and never use the incorrect connection for production.
