Development history of heating element

The history of the general principle of heating sheet heating tube using gravity (usually divided into two-phase thermoiphones) can be traced back to the steam age. The modern concept of capillary driven heat tube was the first proposal of RS gauge of general motors, and the idea was patented in 1942. The benefits of using capillarity were independently developed and first demonstrated at the Los Alamos National Laboratory by George Grover in 1963 and then published in the Journal of Applied Physics in 1964.
