How to Quickly Cool Regenerated Color-Changing Silicone
Leave a message
3. Colour changing silicone regeneration: After regeneration, it is best to naturally chill the silicone in the oven for 30-60 minutes, so as to achieve rapid and safe cooling, and to avoid the degradation of the microporous structure or particle breakage caused by fast cooling.
1. Natural Cooling in the Oven-the Best Way to Cool
Instructions:
Turn off the oven power after baking;
Keep the oven door closed, and leave the silicone in a confined atmosphere for 30-60 minutes;
When the temperature reaches room temperature, take it out within 5 min and seal for storing.
Benefits: even cooling, no thermal shock, maintains the integrity of the silicone structure and is the safest and most efficient way of cooling for household usage.
2. Why Forced Rapid Cooling Cannot Be Used?
Description of Risk
Micropore Collapse: The rapid cooling causes an unequal shrinkage of the silica framework and rupture or collapse of some micropores.
Particle Cracking: When the temperature difference is large, the particle surface may break, which reduces the adsorption efficiency.
Performance Degradation: Structural degradation immediately affects the moisture absorption capacity and the number of regeneration cycles.
Experimental Note: The performance may drop by 10-15% after the first regeneration when forced airflow or cold water cooling is used.
3. Main Operation after Cooling Seal Immediately to Avoid Moisture Absorption: Silica gel continues to collect moisture from the air after cooling.
It is advisable to use aluminium foil self-sealing bags or food storage containers with closing strips to isolate moisture. You can also put a little fresh desiccant in the container to help keep it dry and prolong its useful period.
